Just got finished putting in 2 sony explod speakers (6x9)s in the rear Panels, what a bit**! Not easy to keep that stock appeal and still have good sounds! Any other experiences with these??

On my friends, the convertible frame wouldn't allow for the depth of the 6x9's. So we built a 2" box just to extend it away from the frame. Sounds great, but now it's a PAIN to put the back seats forward.
I just got an 86 vert, and it allready has 6x9's there. It looks like he just mounted them a couple inches lower, and a couple inches back to clear the frame. But now you can see the imprint where the old square covers whent. no biggie, but you it's the little details that annoy me somtimes.

I had to do an emormous amount of grinding on the frame and speaker, but I got it to fit under the stock speaker cover! VERY VERY tight fit. It lookes very good and stock. I did however have to add a screw from the panel to frame just to keep it from cracking that seatbelt trim piece.

Had 6x9's in both my verts....
Wasn't working out......no matter how much I grinded, cut, shaped, modified......
Went with Infinity 6.5". every bit as much power handling as a 6x9.....no fitment issue.......sounds great.
Since I had cut my sail panels to make 6x9 cover fit, I had to fabricate a piece of masonite covered with black vinyl to cover the hole.....speaker and grill attached to the masonite.....
