Ok, so ive done a search in the Convertible Forum
and Cant find any topics on people who have put a convertible top on themselves.. how hard is it? what all is needed? anyone have any photographs of it? or the process? how long did it take you? what steps would you recommend? whose top did you run with? is the glass window prone to breaking on the glass window tops? etc...
any and all information is appreciated, as im thinking about doing this myself, as mine just got knifed.
thanks.

Try These...
Try these links. I think the info you need is there.
Somewhere in my pile of "STUFF" is a copy of the GM Top service replacement manual. If you want I could try to find it and mail you a copy of it...

There is a couple of guys posting on this one who have done their own. you might want to contact them for info/advice...

i replaced mine 2 years ago..i had never done one before..i had a friend help me
took about 2 hours if i remember correctly..took alot of patience but was not too difficult..this was on a 89 gta and it had the plastic rear window...i say if you are patient and good at working on your car you should have no problem getting it done..

Dangit. I used to have this awesome thread bookmarked with step by step for this procedure. When I find it, I'll post it up but it should be searchable in this forum.
Personally, I'll be having a pro do mine this spring with the tax return. I don't have the tools and my track record with glue is ugly.

hey guys, First and foremost i wanted to say thank you for the ifnromation. It was very helpful in assisting me in making my decision. I have decided that however, I dont want to undertake this type of project. It is just a bit too much involved for me to do where i could screw up easily.. (i'd rather just build a motor than this
)
so Ill take it to a shop and have it done.
Does anyone know if 89's had a headliner though? i see screws on my bow1 inside, and assume it had a headliner at one time or another. I would like to get one put back in if it did. Thanks again guys!
