Free Convertible Top and Frame

I bought off eBay what was advertised as a top and frame from a 1992 Camaro convertible. I was really just looking for a good frame for my son's 1991 Z28 convertible. When it arrived, I found that a couple of the small parts of the frame had been bent so it sat under cover in my back yard. Now, my son has sold the car we were going to use the frame on and I don't want to deal with trying to ship this thing anywhere. First person to show up with transportation to take it away, gets it. Email me at teballenger@yahoo.com for directions. We live in Carrollton, Texas, near I35 and Frankford Road. I can take a couple of pictures if you need to see what it looks like, but hey! It's free to a good home! Thanks, Tom Ballenger

Crap! I wish I lived closer...unfortunately, I'm in Austin. I might have to visit my sister in law soon. She lives up your way.

Come on up and get it. I thought it would go in a day or so since it was free but I guess that not being willing to ship it has slowed a lot of people down. I would hate to see it end up in a land fill somewhere. Third Gen parts are just too hard to get a hold of.

Most mailboxes places will wrap it up and get the item to me. If you take it in they will pack and ship at my cost. I have a UPS box number for very large packages ie: cars and car halves. it is PMBXXXXXX my ZIP XXXXX. You see where Im going.

I apologize for not making it more clear. As I said in my first post, "I don't want to deal with trying to ship this thing anywhere." I want whoever picks the top up to see what they are getting. I don't want someone spending a lot of money on shipping and then not being happy with what they get. Secondly, I don't have a vehicle to transport the top to a shipping location. If you know of someone (perhaps from the forums) that lives or works in this area and they come inspect it and pick it up and they ship it to you, that could work.

Here are some pictures of the top:

Below is the driver's side. I think the piece bolted to the goldish colored part and rivited below is partly bent. The next picture down is the passenger side in the same area. You can see where that same piece is badly twisted. I think the person I bought it from was in a hurry when he went to fold it up for shipping and just jambed it shut. The rest of the metal frame, front latches, and back latching pin look to be in good shape.

I will be out of town this Friday thru Sunday, 8/4-6 so I will respond to any contacts late Sunday or on Monday. Tom

Tom,

Do you still have this top? I don't need the entire frame, but I am in desperate need of one part of the frame!
