My vert is a little off!
Hi,
I looked over the tech specs and production numbers for firebirds that year and found no information that matches what I have in the vert.
First of all I have the WS6 package (bigger swaybars tell me that), but I also have an aluminum Driveshaft (checked with magnet). Also, my rear end is drum but it just doesn't seem to be a 2.73 peg leg. First of all it seems to be a posi. Every time I do a burnout I get both tires to spin evenly. I cruise at around 2000RPM's at 70-75MPH in OD. It close to that! Thats how my 3.23 rear end behaved that I had in my previous car.
I am just not sure how this is possible?!?!
You guys got any ideas.
I'll be ordering pontiac service info on my car, as well as getting the dealer to get my cars production sheet (I still have to talk to the person that suggested it, so I am not sure what the sheet is called)
----------
Oh, also.
I am the second owner, the previous owner was an older guy in his late 60's who did not know much about cars and always had it serviced at the dealer. So, I assume that these things came with the car from the factory.

You dont need to call the dealership, although that printout is easier and nicer.
You can just run the RPO codes from the center consel on this site or the internet.
As for the driveshaft, I have read that if someone brought it in and complained of vibrations, that was a commen install/swap.
Gears, swaybars, posi are a commen change, even if it was an old man that owned it.

Btripp on www.sethirdgen.org has two WS6 verts. He posts on here, but under a different screen name. They came with weird options like 3.23 posi drum rears and such. Dunno why though
Enjoy the car!

Oh, only IF I had the RPO codes in the console. None of the third gens I owned had RPO codes.
I'll get one from the dealer, they should have one for a 92!

Re: My vert is a little off!
Good luck with that, I tried that 4-5 years ago for my 92 and the dealerships around here could not help me. They told me they had already purged the 92 and older rpo codes from the system.

Found that out the hard way.
I can still get info for the car from pontiac historical services.
