Are those downtubes from the main hoop going toward the center tunnel? If so +2....Just kinda hard to see...Love the cage, nice work.

Here is a pic of the 2 down bars. SO far the top goes down and up with no problems. I made sure when i had the work done. I havent had any problems with the seat either. Its not bolted in but looks like it will lock in with no problems. The cage set me back a little bit but it was worth it. THe work was exceptional.
Re: 8pt cage in vert completed
I like that you put the down tubes off the hoop that is roughly where the lower control arms attach so there is alot of fatigue in that area. After looking at your pics I put my top down to see the clearance between the rear seats and the tonneu cover and there is none do you think the seats will conform to the cage?

So it looks like you had to take out the bows? Does the top just rest on the roll bars? That is going to look sweet when you get done with it.

May I ask how much that cage cost you? You can PM me if you'd rather.

BlueZ,
I had $200 into mine. but I also fit and put it in myself. If you drop the car off at a shop expect to pay anywhere from 75/hr and up OR a few hundred in install labor. Should be under 1k. depending on if you go MS or Molly.

Re: 8pt cage in vert completed
I'm looking ahead in the future here, since someday my vert will be LSx powered, or at LEAST a CC306 LT1, so I'll probably need a cage.

Re: 8pt cage in vert completed
hey Chris I was wondering on your roll bar install were the rear seats still somewhat comfortable? also in the fics were your front seats all the way back? and when I do mine I am not planning on using the cross bar on the main hoop just because it will still mainly be a street car anyway and that way my kids can still sit in back, this sound OK? I am putting the spohn sfc on and figured as long as I am not racing all the time it should be ok. or do you have any suggestions on making it removable? I have seen the hinged and removable version side bars but never the crossbar.
Re: 8pt cage in vert completed
I didnt take out any bows on mine. THe top has about a fingers room between the bar and the top. In my vert the back seats are still functional. And BLue zee ill send ya a pm.

Re: 8pt cage in vert completed
And when you say functional back seats, can someone taller than 5'5" sit in the back? It almost looks like the bars going to the rear would prevent someone of tall stature to sit back there because their head would hit the bar.

If your not worried about track rules and tech inspection. Then Go for it and put in a removable bar.
Re: 8pt cage in vert completed

Re: 8pt cage in vert completed
I mainly want it in for looks mine will rarely see the track anyway. I am going to buy a t-top camaro for that. Easier to find body panels on the t-tops than verts' should still help add some stiffness anyway. I will more than likely move the main hoop to right behind the doors and have the swingout sidebars that fit around the stock door handles.
