Re: My 87 GTA Vert

Yeah im trying to find out more of the history of it, i do have a copy of the build sheet which I will scan on here as well, also if you look at the picture with the dash, around the radio pod you will see an orange blur, it says special edition 0412 i have no idea what that means

Re: My 87 GTA Vert

Be interesting to see if someone knows what that # is for. Been having an eye out for more 87 GTA Verts have seen photos of 3 others besides yours. The Flame Red is mine.

How do you put the photos in instead of the file?

Re: My 87 GTA Vert

According to ASC they made a total of about 173 Firebird Verts in 1987. Of those the majority were GTA's or Trans Am's. The number 412 is interesting as they did not make that many according to ASC. In 1986 & 1987 prior to the Camaro being officially offered thru Chevrolet they numbered those cars as well and I am not sure if they simply carried over the number from Firebird to Camaro with no regard for the line.

Love those rear spilers on those cars...do you have a closer pic of it/ plus, I'd like to have a close look at that brake light.

Re: My 87 GTA Vert

Actually the Spoiler is the Base Firebirds spoiler/wing in 1987 they simply cut off the ends and then filled the ends with Bondo. Why they did not use the Factory high mount brake light is beyond me... Probably because the shape of the trunk is different than the hatch...
