91-92 Z28 Vert

I'm begining to think that these don't exist anymore for a reasonable price......

Anyone have any leads on a cheap 91-92 Z28 vert in the southeast.

Did i miss something where these are now pulling a $8-10K pricetag.......

Why yes they are...You may see a RS or SC go for less. A decent IROC & Z28 will pull in some nice dollars. Check out e-bay to see what i mean. The economy has knocked it down some but nice ones still command $$

That's the problem I'm having, I don't want a nice one....lol

The worse off the interior and exterior the better, it's all getting changed anyway......guess i'll be keeping my eyes out, I really wanted a Z28 this time around....already did the RS thing

When I was looking about 18mo ago, yes many were fetching 5+.

Occasionally you would find a heavly damaged one for 1-2. (plus transportation)

I lucked out and picked mine up for 2500 and was able to drive it home. But Ive also had to do alot of work to it since. Just keep looking, I spent about 5months looking.

Craiglist & e-bay are your best options. Though i wouldn't purchase a car off of e-bay w/o first inspecting it. To many horror stories....

Yeah, that's why i'm trying to limit my search to the southeast, that way i can drive to get to it and not be stuck with a 1-way plane ticket if it turns out to be junk

Re: 91-92 Z28 Vert

Just be patient, they are out there. I paid a bit for my 92z28 vert 3 years ago but haven't seen another one like it since then. It was more than what I was looking for. Just make sure whatever you pick up has all of the convertible specific parts in tact, otherwise the cost of your project can get crazy pretty quick. Good Luck!

If you find one in my state for sale, give me a pm. I'll go inspect it for you. I did this for a buyer on here in canada.

Pretty much anything from the doors back + the top + the windshield pillar and all. If anything is missing or damaged, parts can be very hard to come by and are not cheap. Try and buy as nice a car as you can afford to minimize the cost that may be associated with buying replacement parts. Just my .02

Re: 91-92 Z28 Vert

they are Rare yes ... I rarely see one and I know there were x2 as many RS converts made and even those I dont see down here. I guess i lucked out when I purchased my white on tan 91 convert Z .. the guy wanted 3,800 and I sure has hell did not need another car ... I went with 3k and said if he takes it great if not, Oh well. He said "no" .. I said well im sorry and thank you for your time I walked to my truck and he said "wait" and I guess you know the rest.

keep your eyes open. P.s. I drove it home with a big smile.

Re: 91-92 Z28 Vert

Down in Harlingen ey? My last vert was a green 92 RS that I cloned to a Z28. I sold it up here in Austin and last carfax I ran on it showed it down in your part of TX. I don't wanna hijack the thread but have you seen it out there? It is a green on tan vert with tan top, has Z28 emblems and a 2.25" Glasstek Cowl hood on it. I think I had the Eibach prokit on it and may have had some custom wheels on it too. Its been some time since I last saw the car!

FlyinLow - They only made 1254 92 Z28 verts. The 92s had some 92 specific parts on them (seatbelts, tonneau release mechanism) and probably some others that I just cant think of at the moment. I have only seen a handful come up on eBay in the last few years. There is a sweet black one on there now with super low miles but I think the bidding is at 17k last I checked. If you want to expand you search to TX which should yield some pretty clean rust free cars between myself and some buddies we can cover Houston, Austin and Dallas if you need a car checked out!

I just picked up a '92 Z28 Convertible outside of Savannah, GA this past weekend... I've been looking for several years for the right one and had to drive 18 hours one way to pick her up... Just be patient - they are out there!

must have made it home alright. Flynlow was actually suppose to come and look at the car a little while ago, but never did. hes right below me in florida. Guess it worked out in your favor.

by this time next week ill be back home with my 1991 RS Vert. I'm sure it will end up being sold in the near future. Wont have room for 3 cars again.

these cars are out there, all depends on how much work you want to do.

Hope she treats you good jon. Keep me posted on the progress.
