Dam Dog !!

I walked by my car yesterday and was in shock when I saw this .. Looks like the neighbors dog chased a cat or another small animal or something under the car, but this dog went to town on my front spoiler and fender and Bra.

This dog has some strong teeth cause he left his bite marks dents all on the fender .. plus paw prints all over the hood. I confronted neighbor which happens to be my dads nephew which is I guess my 2nd cousin. But to me that means NOTHING !! he didn't offer to pay and I didn't raise a stink. I just said to myself, "well i've been meaning to put another spoiler.

Do regular fenders fit on convertibles.??

Re: Dam Dog !!

When I first got my vert it sat out back of my place under a car cover.A squirrel chewed a hole in the cover and part of the convertible top along the seam over the rear window. It didnt chew thru the top but the edges are frayed where it happended.I was furious. Now the car is in a garage so I dont worry about that stuff happening anymore

Re: Dam Dog !!

Bummer

I have my side yard with the cars separated from the back yard where the dog is. Now I know why.

my toys stay under cover my new car sits outside

anyway man, raise some hell with the owner of the dog, i know where i live the owner is responsible for the dog and damages it does, infact if you plow a dog over and it damages your car they are responsible for damages, all you need is someone who "seen the dog on your car" (wink wink)

anyway keep us posted on what happens

Re: Dam Dog !!

^^ I know what you mean and I was just busting your B@lls on that comment I made, but I have a 2 car garage but with a pool table in there and other stuff that garage might as well be a storage unit.

With that said, I'll just let it go. for real the front spoiler was $%#ed anyways, but the fender is screwed! Im looking at a 92 parts car RS that has no motor and no tranny for 250 bucks. its has nice black interior with all black panels all around. Power windows so the black door panels do not have the hole for the manual window. Well maybe this mishap will be a good thing so I can play with this car again. As you can see by the stickers on the windshield "07" it has not been on the road for awhile but I still turn it on and take it down the street etc.

there are minor things that have kept me from using that car, but I love it and will not part with it.

Re: Dam Dog !!

The fender from a non convertible car will have to be cut for it to fit a convertible car. Good luck

Re: Dam Dog !!

Boy, that sucks like you read about - Nice car, though. My parts guy up here tells me that Keystone is now stocking convertible fenders, which would mean fenders that are ready to hang without having to cut them off down bottom. I'll double check with him, 'cos I'm going to be needing one, too.

Re: Dam Dog !!

Um... No way would I let that go. Did the dog break off the GFX??? Or was it like that? I dont care if he's family or not. He'd be paying for it all. That car is a mess! Its bad enough there are probably scratches from the stones in the muddy prints, but he caused actual damage to it??? Ide be livid.

I love dogs, but there would have to be serious circumstances for me not to go after it with a .45.

ughh...that just makes me cringe. Good luck cleaning/fixing her up.

J.

Re: Dam Dog !!

Seriously, I'd call his insurance company. He needs to pay for that. That dog did some serious damage and your car may need to be painted again. You've worked hard on YOUR Third Gen. Make him pay for it...family or not, he was in the wrong and there are LEASH LAWS.

Re: Dam Dog !!

If he's your dad's nephew then he is your cousin, not second cousin.

Seriously though, I'd file a police report with that one, my cousin would DEFINITLY be paying for the repairs. No way would I pay out of pocket for that.

Re: Dam Dog !!

What type of insurance would cover that? Does car comp. cover that? Or household, cause household doesnt cover "pet" mistakes/damages.

Re: Dam Dog !!

Call your insurance company and pose the question to them as if it were your dog destroying someone else's property. It SHOULD come under your (HIS) homeowner's insurance. Either way, he needs to own up for not having his dog under control.
