Anyone have pics of a convertible in the stock dark green or purple? The medium blue is my favorite color of 91/92 but I think that purple might be better if I can get to see one.

My father in law would have a stroke if he saw that. His favorite color is purple and he wants a Purple Haze '92 Z28 so badly, and it being a convertible would really put the icing on the cake.

Its Imron not "emron" and I highly dout it is imron. Imron has not been used for car paint in many years. The closest you can get to automotive grade imron would be Dupont's Nason ful-thane 2k urethane.


It looks more like a bc/cc then a single stage. If anyone is interested the paint code is GM: 84 "Purple haze poly" PPG: 4466 WA-9802
$497 per gallon for Deltron 2000 DBC Kustomshop paint is $229 gallon.

Anyone notice it looks a lot like the Black rose used on the same year corvette? Only I believe the vette is metallic

 

I didn't know they made a green vert. I would love to see one.

 

I have since realized the purple is a 1992 colour only and the green (teal) was only on RS cars in 1991. Z28 colours are as follows:

1991 had: Ultra Blue, Black, Red, Dk Red, and Arctic White
1992 had: Quasar Blue, Black, Purple Haze, Red, Dk Red, Dk Teal, and Arctic White.

As mentioned, in 91 there was no green offered on the Z28. For 92 it changed a bit, but the only green Z28 convertible I've ever seen was polo green. There were a handful of colors tossed in mid-year, that might make documentation hard to find since in the beginning of the year the colors didn't exist.

 

i have a 92 RS polo green vert. never saw a Z28 polo green vert!
