Re: convertible sub frame connectors, any pics?

I have two sets on my 'vert and have been told it rides nicer than a hardtop car....

I've posted pics of them on here before, just search the forum with my username

definitely a must have for any 3rd gen, let alone a 'vert

Re: convertible sub frame connectors, any pics?

I have the Alstons, and the SPohns

Both have their merits, but I do snag the Alstons on some steeper business entrances.

Re: convertible sub frame connectors, any pics?

I think 89 onwards you can only use Spohn and Alston because of the sheet metal box on the inside of the rocker panels.

Looks nice with the Spohn & Alston connectors together!
Does anyone have a link on where to buy the Alstons?

Do both come unpainted?

Top Down Solutions is the only place off the top of my head

I think they come bare

the Spohns come bare or powder coated in red and/or black

Re: convertible sub frame connectors, any pics?

When I bought my Alstons they were painted black. I did have to trim down a little bit of the mounting area at the front of the passenger side sfc when I was installing my Spohn cross member for the T56, but it's not a lot. This wouldn't affect anyone who's not doing a T56 conversion though.

I do plan on getting a second set of SFC's like Spohn later, and I will be finishing my undercoating this winter also. I know it looks kind of tacky with only part of the car black under there.

Oh and you can see in that last picture where I scrape on my passenger side sfc. My car is lowered.

Re: convertible sub frame connectors, any pics?

Our SFC's will work on the convertible models. A customer sent me pictures at one time with them installed on a convertible but I can't locate them.

I hope that helps,
Ryan

Re: convertible sub frame connectors, any pics?

Ryan, do your sfcs fit the 89 models up where GM have added the sheet metal boxes along the sills? I know they fit the earlier models but not sure about the later ones. thanks.
