Bought a new convertible to part out BUT

as I dug into it, its actually a pretty descent car. All of the convertible specific parts are there and are in pretty good shape. It's an 88 Sport Coupe Convertible that. I already have a convertible in pretty nice shape and I have no desire to build another one.

Is anyone interested in this before I dig in and part it out. The car is setup as a roller - it would need a fender, hood, bodywork, top, brakes, paint, engine and transmission. It has a 4th gen 10 bolt rear end in it, new black carpet and 4th gen cloth firebird seats. Good news on this one is that all of the convertible specific parts are there. Currently rolling on 89 Formula wheels and tires.

Offering it to this group before I go ahead and part it out. I will give it 2 weeks if anyone is interested. I am thinking $2200 with a clear texas title. Haven't found any rust on the car.

It would be a shame to part out a good rust free car with a ton of potential. It really needs just put together.

Let me know if you end up parting it, I'm in need of header & windshield trim panels with no cracks for my 92 Z28

I think the parts are different and work with a 92.

Re: Bought a new convertible to part out BUT

wow.... this was FYRCHKN's car. recognized the blue front bumper. guess they decided to gut the drive train and rims that were on it. good luck with the sale...hate to see cars go when they have good potential.

Re: Bought a new convertible to part out BUT

Saw it didn't meet reserve...try lowering it a little. You won't get anywhere near $2,200 by parting it out, and you'll have to put time into parting it. Lower it and I don't see why you wouldn't sell it for whats likely a tidy little profit...

I am going to do that. I put it up for 1600 here on TGO. Gonna run it again on ebay on a 5 day auction.
