Re: I found my vert

they all came with the black around the headlights it's probably the person that painted before you got it just didnt do it, you see quite a few like that, dont know why people dont finish the job but it shouldn't be too hard for you to do it or cost you much to have it done. if you click on my name it will take you to my page and you'll see some pics of my car I got it last year and paid the same amount as you did!!

Great car. It took me almost 20 years to find the one I wanted. Your car has code G80 which means the rear is positraction and I think it has 323 gears.

That's a GREAT buy! I assume it's TPI plus a 5 speed and 3.23 is somewhat rare a desireable. Great price too!

gpasare, I put Bilstein on mine I know some guys go with Koni but Iv'e always had good luck with Bilstein weather it was my Z-71 pickup or my 1 ton duramax or my wifes Tahoe when the original shocks go bad I always use Bilstein hope that helps.

Re: I found my vert

I have Bilsteins and couldn't be happier. They have a lifetime warranty and you can send them back to the factory and they will re-build them for you. 5 speeds are rare. I would say around 10% of these cars are stick. This past spring I put all new shocks and struts and all red sway bar bushings and every other kind of bushing and my car cracked the windshield from cornering (not a rock). My vert feels like a go-cart now after the front end rebuild (all moog) and all the other new suspension stuff I changed. I got a 9 bolt posi 327 geared PBR disc rear, be cool rad with taurus fan and just finished the kenwood radio. Got to have SFC since the car flexes more than a fishing rod. I really cracked my windshield from sliding the car around the tight corners leading to my house. Its a lot of fun but Im not buying a new windshield every month.

From what I hear everybody raves about the Stock AC delco's(#escapes me), not the split fires or iridiums ... keep it simple.

Re: I found my vert

It will only go up in value. The beauty about our cars is that they have already taken the time hit and lost about all the money they are going to. Now time is on there side and they are starting to go up in vaiue especially the rarer cars like the verts, 89 pace car T/As etc.

Nice looking vert man! The 5spd has got to make that much more fun than most stock auto verts. You got a great price on it from what I have seen with the vert prices.

You might as well change all the gear oil and trans fluid while you got it up for the oil change. Won't take much longer to do it

Who doesn't love a red vert stick? Have fun this weekend, I'm envious. You have a car's twin nearby. It's a one owner car and he's still driving. My vote is to keep the mods tasteful and subtle.

Was that the one in Danbury, CT?

You did really well - 3:45 Performance Axle ratio, posi, 4 wheel disk and engine oil cooler. Your seller knew his way through the options sheet.

If you ever want to let it go, send me a PM.

There's a RS vert for sale in North Jersey 91K miles for $3495, looks decent, its a purple haze color ....

Another RS in Newark Delaware - white with red interior for like $4900.

Both cars look decent.

Both on Craigs List.

Re: I found my vert

The Letter/numbers in the console are the RPO codes, they will tell you how the car was equipped from the factory, what options, etc. There is an RPO Decoder available from this site, just select it from the Gray list area on the Main Page and download it. It works real slick. Nice car tool, enjoy the 5-speed!
