frame connectors
I am ready to order the frame connectors for my 1992 and when I search on here everybody says that the mac and alston connectors are the same. But when I go to Macs site it says there connectors are not for convertibles. Has anybody succesfully installed them on a vert.

Re: frame connectors
Its not a matter of price the macs are cheaper but I can buy those from a local place. The alstons I would have to have shipped and the price for that is close to $80 to come to canada

I have been told them that they fit nicely. I guess I will see when I get around to installing mine.

Re: frame connectors
It's bad enough hard top guys debate this, but I can at least understand it since they have zero SFC's from the factory.
But if you have a convertible why on earth would you waste money on putting SFC's RIGHT next to SFC's. That just results in a slight stiffer connection in the same area you already have one.
You wouldn't bolt a strut tower brace to both the front and back of your strut tower would you?
Get the alston's that run down the middle and truely connect the front and rear subframe plus you'll also have the stock ones. So now you have 4 evenly spaced subframe connectors under your convertible.
I run them on both my t-top and vert.
Pic of them on the convertible can be seen in my post here.

With all that being said, the alstons do look like nice pieces as well.

Re: frame connectors
I have UMI weld in SFC on a t-top car and you can use them to jack up the car with a floor jack which comes in very handy. They stiffened up the car very well also.
