Just got the car home, couldnt find a asc sticker. Looking at the other asc cars, looks alot like a asc compared to the other companies. Ive uploaded some pics, wish i could have put more up, but the batteries decided to die. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks,scott

the first couple are the cover of the top mechanism.

 

looks like one to me. My asc sticker is on the drives side door itself in the jam around the latch.

 

its got me baffled. unless they hid a sticker somewere else.

 

They probably took off ASC decal. I have them new. I also have the rear panels you're missing in grey. The motor pictured is a power rear top pull down installed later on car that customers complained about rear of top coming open while driving. I've done it 3-4 times usually higher speeds. The pin that goes in toneau cover should be groved. Are you restoring it or parting it? If so I'd be interested in top pull down motor, pin and opening on toneau cover itself.

I looked at an 87 IROC vert a few years back. I had a screw-type pin for the rear of the top, but the power motor had died so the PO tossed the motor and used a pair of vice grips to keep the pin in place, idiot. It was an ASC conversion, still had the sticker and I think something mounted to the dash maybe too.

I think im going to hang on to it for a while. its been sitting in a garage for the last 15 years. the guy started taking the interior apart and couldnt remember what he did with some of the parts.

 

can these motors be rebuilt, or is there a replacement motor that will work?

 

Honestly without looking at it I am not sure... It would not surprise me if it is a standard motor like a Seat motor that is modified...

Might even look at FORD and CHRYSLER, as ASC did use the third brake light lens from a FORD in 1987...
