Pictures of my "Perma Cool" DUAL fan setup

I just installed these Dual 12" Perma Cool fans today. They flow 1650 cfm's a piece (3300 cfm's total) and cover more of the radiator than the Single 16" Perma Cool fan (2950 cfm) I had. Today was about 95* and in around town traffic with the A/C on the engine went a little over 220*. This same 95* temperature a week ago with the Single 16" fan, the engine went over 240*.

Here's a picture of the Single 16" Perma Cool fan I replaced. It did work better than the stock fan but, with all the hot days over a 100* I needed something better to cool the A/C condensor with.

Hey GKK did you happen to clean out the rad and condenser with the scrub brush and back wash it with a hose when you ahd it all apart?

Also to wire each fan up to its own relay coming off the batt. The way that you have it now, its not letting the fans work at their potential.

Yes, I did clean the Condensor and Radiator with an air hose and also sprayed water through it from a garden hose. I also used Zerex Radiator Flush and backflushed the system using the Prestone backflush kit. No, I didn't wire the fans like in the picture. I realized that it would reduce the power to each fan so, I wired each fans + to + and - to - and connected the two fan leads to the stock relay. I thought it would be OK to wire it this way because each fan only draws 7.5 amps each.

lol, never installed one. Care to elaborrate? Do you think I can fit the 14" fans if I were to stagger the mounting points? I'm thinking about buying these along with a Griffin just to be sure I wont have any cooling probs when I install the new engine

The fans are mounted using nylon plastic straps that are inserted through the fan mounts and between the cooling tubes and secured on the other side with a square nylon plastic locking nut. Each side of the radiator is protected by little square foam pads so nothing can damage the radiator. It's a very effective and simple mounting system thats been used for years. Yes you can get two 14" Perma Cool fans to fit with some modifications. It'll be a tight fit and you'll have to do a lot of cutting to the plastic upper radiator support mount and yes you'll have to stagger the position because there is no way they'll fit side by side. I didn't want to go through all of this hassle because I like the clean factory look.

Cool, thanks for the info. I was planning on making a custom Aluminum radiator mount anyway (Similar to Synapsis's), so that might eliminate me having to cut it up to install the 14" fans.

Yes you can put two 14" fans on your radiator. I have a griffen radiator and all I did was put one on the front and the other on the back.

I'm using two staggered 14" Perma-Cool Fans. It did require some fabrication and I had to lose the power steering "cooler" line under the radiator. My car now has a 300 HP crate motor, and with the stock radiator and 160 degree stat I never see more than 180 degrees, even on the hottest days.

I used the 14's because I already had one. If I had to do it over, I'd go with the two 12"ers, because of the better fit and less hassles installing.

Hmm. I was planning on probably using a seperate cooler for the power steering anyway, so that wouldnt be much of a prob. I mainly want to get the 14" fans cause they come with aluminum blades Looks cooler than the plastic ones. I'm sure the 12" fans will move more than enough air, though. Thanks for the info.

I bought a B&M Street Rod Oil Cooler (Polished) and used it for the Power Steering. Also ran Teflon Lined Braided Steel Hoses.
