goodyear makes some funky blue hose...not really what your goin for if your matchin your car, obviously there's the boring braided hose, then there's another company that makes Cool Flex...that **** looks decent...there are some colored silicone replacement hoses from Paragon and such, they looks decent, solid colors, nothin real spiffy..just like the goodyear hoses except colors other than blue, thats really about all i've seen....

i am looking for something along the stainless, chrome style that doesn't look out of place with the new setup.

you think coolflex is the best idea? aren't they real expensive?

Cool Flex would be the way to go if you wanted the chrome look to you car. And they sell it by the foot. I think I saw some last time in a swap meet, so it will be a little more expensive, but it was about 60 or 70 bucks by the foot.

there's those Spectra hoses that are already rapped in the SS mesh stuff and not the same stuff u slid over ur existing hoses. i have 2 of there hoses on my car now. i have the fuel line and vacume line. its pretty nice stuff for the price and adds alittle attention to the engine comparment.

i just need to replace the heater hoses and the upper radiator hose and get some more vacume hoses and get rid of some of that black rubber lines.

i don't think i'd buy anything from Spectre and expect it to last, if you want the braided look you might as well just buy good braided line and do AN fittings...i think Earl's sells some and Aeroquip...they're not priced too badly...but EVERYONE has it...the cool flex is a little less common, and i know you show it, so that might win some originality points...

yea price is a big issue if ur goin all ss lines and AN fittings. most of us dont have that kinda money. but if u look at on of my heater hoses that one is the spectra heater hoses and its still holding up and i bought this car 3yrs ago with that on there and no problems.

i like the spectrea stuff becuz its cheap and dresses up the engine bay and if any hose fails just buy a new one.

the pre-done deals look better (in the package anyway), but i know a kid with a 94 grand am (big wing...real gay) that bought the covering kit and the strands got real seperated to the point you can see the hose through the covering, the ss turned more of a soft gray color, the strand ends stick out of the hose clamp cover...it looks horrible. I dunno how well the pre-covered hoses work, thats all 82's department, i imagine they'd do the same thing if they were worked with alot, always being taken off and put back on, etc...
