stock water pump color

I have a 92 camaro rs and it doesnt have the stock waterpump in it. I want to change it back to a brand new gm waterpump. Was the stock pump painted black or just left bare metal? Thanks

the 305 i pulled out of mine was bare metal and really rusty. i assume it was the original since the car had 84000 miles and the motor was locked up. but who knows.

The water pump on my 91Z is stock and is rusted, so I fathom it is not painted.

ok find a stock waterpump out of a junkyard thats all rusted up - thats stock looking. might i ask you why you want a stock looking water pump tho? nobodys says, "wait billy, dont race him his water pump looks to be gloss black. stay away from that car, just stay away" not to mention the performance, a stewart flows more, and why wouldnt you want a pump that will lessen the chance of overheating?

i'm a perfectionist, and when it comes to my car i have to have everything exactly how i want it, i dont like the look of the water pump thats on my car now so i want to change it back to the stock water pump, thats why, and when you're racing someone they dont even see under the hood, let alone the water pump, all i wanted was to know the color so my engine can be perfect to my standards, thank you

When you get your new waterpump you could clear -coat it so it stays original apperance, but will not get rusty?

MY water pump is painted black. The car was my dad's and he had it new. I know for a fact he never messed with the car. Yes there is a bit of rust here and there, but it definately was black. 90 Formula.
