single stock fan or dual stock fan

my 92 rs has had a history of overheating in the summer. finally figured out i was leaking water from the intake manifold so i dont know if the single fan will still cut it.

i just did a swap to a lo5. its got a bigger cam and im saving for headers. im still running the 305 tbi but ive upgraded all things to make the car correctly. (car still not running)

my questions is should i try and find parts so i can swtich to the dual stock fan. a lot guys are telling me the single is fan is better or as good as the dual setup. im having a hard time believing this idea. keep in mine im already in 95 degree weather and by august ill be 105+.

No way single fan is better. I swapped 305 to 350 and started having overheat problems with the single fan. Found dual fan TPI setup fan and mounts, put them in, no more problems. And oh yeah, the a/c blows cooler at redlights/traffic because they pull a whole lot more air through the condensor. You can feel the air pulling in from in front of the car when it is sitting still of course. Also switched from the 195 thermostat to a 180 and a 200 degree hypertech fan switch.

When hunting the boneyards make sure you get the aux fan relay socket, you need 2 fan relays. Relays are available anywhere but the relay sockets are sometimes hard to find and very pricey either aftermarket or dealer.

I would suggest fixing the leak, first.

Did you have any problems hooking this up? Did you have to splice or anything else?
