The Camaro got the air damn. It really helps the A/C equipped cars on the freeway from overheating but for us blessed with no factory A/C it really is just a useless piece of plastic that scrapes everything in sight....

its still needed on all 3rdgen fbodys.. the cars are bottom feeders.. they ALL suck in the majority of the cooling air from the bottom...

well i still dont know exactly were it is on my car guys. Sorry im only 17 and im really car stupid so if u could tell me were its located. I have a grill were the fog lights are and there is a black sheet of plastic goin across the botom. I htink it is so that the ground effects dont get scraped from underneath. So is my air dam blocked by this or what? see i ask cuz i have a 160 thermo and a on/of toggle to my fan. And for a while it will run around like 170-180 but as sooon as i get above like 40-50 mph it starts to have problems. Im gonna do a rad flush cuz the coolant is dirty and see if it helps none. But this may be my prob so thats y i ask. :-) thanks

the accelaration overheating def sound like an air damn problem.. do a search! many people have pics if you bent down and look under your car from the direct from the nose... you will see a big piece of plastic blocking your view from the rest of the undercarrage... thats your air damn... i hate to say this but it looks like a dam

if you see it then you have it if not the you dont or if you see it and its really bad condition or scrapped up real bad then its disfunctional. and you need to replace

i just dont want to catch it on something and break it off, i know its only $20, but i dont wanna be putting one on every month. i mean this thing scrapes pulling out of a garage, into a driveway w/ no slant to it, a wave in the pavement. its really bad. im going to redo my suspension in a week or two, so ill see if its any better. but i was just wondering if it would hurt to trim off like an inch or 2?

it has to hang lower than the bumper... 2 might be pushing it! the shorter the lessair the more hot car gets on highway! the only think you have to worry about besides your driveway are the parking bumbers!

i just would cut a little at a time, trying to keep it as long as i could...

im going to lower it first and see how bad it scrapes. it shouldnt drop much more, if at all. it has original springs on 135k miles. theyre about shot. so im hoping it will sit where it does but be stiffer. maybe it wont scrape as much. well see if i need to trim it at all. thanks for all the help guys.
