best way to remove Fan Switch

I broke my fan switch on the passenger side head during my header install a year ago. Well the time has finally beckoned for me to change it so that my fan does not run all the time. However, I cannot seem to get any socket or wrench on this thing. Does anyone know what size it is and what is the best way to get it out. From the top or bottom. I can't see it very well from eirhter side and cannot see if I need a alrger or smaller size tool. I would like to not have to take my header out. Everyone knows how much a pain the passenger side is.

It shouldn't be that bad to pop it out!!

I would just try a open end wrench from underneath. Might be easier to get a turn on it...It worked for me. Can't remember the size though off the top of my head...

I know how you feel, I broke mine changing headers too, Hooker LTs. That sucked...

I can only imagine the problems with long tubes. wow what a nightmare and I just have crappy ol' flowtechs. Anyways, I decide to pull the headers anyways because I have to pull the heads now. It should be cake to get out now. Now if I could only get the coolant drain plug loosened at the bottom of the block. Man why is everything so hard I still to this day cannot get the dipstick out that I mangled during the install. I swear the devil is in the oil pan holding onto the other end.

Well I got it out today. Boy was it in there tight. It was a 13/16 and I got it from underneith with the starer out of the way. The only problem was trying to catch all of the coolant that was flying in my face.

Its funny becuase that is the only place it did not get. I had coolant everywhere for this swap. I can't get the block plug out so I had to do things the messy way.

How come you can't get it out? With the headers off it should be easy to get to from underneath.

I left the headers on for now. They have thier own problems that will be addressed later. So It was hard to get that block drain nut to turn.
