that temp is normal

if you want it lower, dual fans need the chip reprogrammed(lower fan turn on) or a manual switch
single fan needs a lower temp fan switch, or a manual switch

the stat will open earlier that doesnt mean without the fan being on it will keep cooler, it will just keep the engine from getting hotter quicker since u lowered the open temp.

the easiest is to get a lower fan switch or just wire in a manual fan switch, u will find great info from running some searches.

My formula runs between 220-240. you said that I need the chip reprogammed(I have the dual fans), where is this chip located, and how do I reprogram it?(even though I think my temp is normal, maybe it should be a little lower??)

180 stat is very nice to have.

normal stock temp i found it to be 220 on the guage.

the easiest and cheapest is to wire in a manual switch, the dual fan diagram showing how to wire it in is all over the cooling board.
