Temp Sendin Unit on dart pro1 heads
I have rebuilt my motor from the bottom up, and now getting into the last few stages, I have a question Dart seems to give thier sending unit's 3/8NPT while the temp sending units that I have seen are all 1/2"NPT for the camaros with gauges. The other problem I have is that if I try to adapt this out for the size, I end up with about 4" total from block to the SLP headers. Ideally I need to get a 3/8"NPT temp sending unit. Any ideas on how to do this or what to use???

my electric autometer gauge is 1/4 npt and you would bush it up to the size you need.if you use electric gauges it should be in the intake. the headers will heat up the sending unit causing more resistance- giving you bad readings

Thanks guys..right now I am starting the motor with stock gauges so I wanted to stay stock on the gauges..that might be a mod for alil down the road, right now I have so much tied into the motor and driveline Im just looking to make some progress by starting it up and getting it running and tuned so I can complete by spring. Bushing it down would be easy. I am running a dart koolcan which I beleive has 1/2npt on the top. I may use my intake as you mentioned the headers will be tossing heat off badly. I'm going to look at the intake tommorow.
