Antifreeze leak and fan question

I have a 1986 TA w/ a 305 carburated. It has an antifreeze leak coming from behind the ac compressor bracket. Is this likely the Intake manifold gasket or maybe the Head Gasket? Also the fan seems to be coming on way too hot, (about to the red area of the gauge). Where is the temp switch located? Thought this might be where to start.

Sounds like your fan is coming on the high temp switch and not the computer turn on at normal temp. Check for power at the fan relay, or maybe the relay is bad. I think you can turn on the switch, connect the A and B connectors on the test terminal under the dash by the steering column, and the fan should come on if all is ok with the circuit.

it's common for the intake gasket to go in the front. If you are leaking out you are lucky, sometimes they blow inward and fill the oil with coolant. Make sure the coolant is not blowing from somewhere else. The front pass side rad tank cracks. If you are not holding system pressure the engine will overheat fast since pressure keeps the coolant from boiling. Low coolant could also be preventing the fan operation. Fix the leak first, then attack the other problem if it still exists.
