A/C not working
I have finished my engine swap project recently to discover that the AC controls do not work at all. I can put the AC controls on anything and get no response. My blower motor will not even come on.
So I started to trouble shoot it electrically. Wires are connected at the back of the controls. Check. I can jumper 12+ to the relay and get the blower motor to come on, so blower motor checks out also and I am getting poer to it. Relay also checks out as I went ahead and replaced that also.
Vaccum lines are connected at the back of the controls, Vaccum selector switch funtions along with the other temp changer lever. cable is still hooked up and good. I have the plugs in all of the AC controls. Vaccum has not been connected yet to manifold though. I have not done this yet because I want to find out why the blower motor is not working. Or will it not work without any vaccum?
I have also removed the old ecm in favor of a Mega Squirt. So I have a wire that went into the ecm that went to the A/C, that is not used right now. Should I connect this to a +/- source on a switch?

The wire that went to the ecm being disconnected wont cause the problem you describe. It only tells the ecm to kick up the idle a little when the a/c is on. Are you getting power to the blower speed switch? Does that power make it thru the switch to the blower? My guess would have to be a bad power becasue its rare for a switch to fail on all speeds.

OK, I was getting power to the switch but now I am blowing fuses. What should I try/look for now?

If your '92 is wired like my '83, you will find a cooked connector under the radio. Supplies power to heater switch. This situation will either prevent the control from getting power by creating an open circuit, or blow the fuse, because a bad connection draws more amps.

Just went thru this. The blower motor has it's own ground connection to one of the intake bolts (from the factory) If you leave it off, no fan or sporatic fan and blowing fuses if it touches something.
