those of you who have a mechanical fan car- i have a poll

ok those of you that have an 82-85 with LG4 and mechanical fan setup- do you you have a bottom half of fan shroud ?

im really curious

i had someoen just tell me that these didnt use a lower half of fan shroud

i dunno how this could be

so if anyone has some info on this subject then lets get it posted please

there was a .jpg taken from a body repair book or something like that a while back and it showed all the parts and the part numbers and such it was a parts illustration for these cars 82-85 with mech fan and non-HO 305, someone knows what i am talking about here, can you show me the diagram again ? cuz i cant find it now :/

thanks

Only LG4s with A/C and an automatic transmission should have a 2 piece shroud, I believe. The rest have a 1 piece shroud on the top only. The 1 piece shroud isn't just the top half of a 2 piece shroud either, they're different parts.

I was just ripping the rad out of an 82-84 Firebird LG4 auto with AC and it had a 2 piece shroud.

hey can you two tell me if your upper half has gm part number 2X- 1058 21
10027164

and if is same on oyurs then whats numbers on lower of yours ?

am really curious

i appreciate it

has proven to be a hard thing ot find for this car, is the lower half

all i got with this car is the upper half and its factory LG4 and thm200C and A/C equipped

and there are four holes on ends of the upper half for bolts to go through and hold a lower half, but i cant see any marks around them from any hardware ever being installed, looks clean,

hmmm,,.

thanks

How many blades are on your fan? If you have the one piece shroud you should also have a 3 blade flyswatter.

I just replaced the belt-driven fan my on my 85 IROC (LG4, T-5) with GM dual electrics. The original shroud was a two-piece design. I still have both pieces in my garage.
