Passenger Side Temp Switch Alternatives

Hi guys, trying not to buy the derale kit. I'd like to find a temp sending switch that maybe could be bought through pep boys or autozone. While searching I found one that turns on at 220, but I'd like one to turn on a little cooler than that, maybe 200 or 190. Something like this, I know autozone must have one of these. Heres an example from Summit ..

Thanks,
Matt

I dont think autozone would carry that. They mostly carry stock parts. Your way better off getting it from summit. Thats where i got mine from. I got the Jet temp switch. I love it. it kicks the fan on around 190-195. way cooler than stock. Get it from summit.

I had to order mine from Summit as well. THen I replocated it to a "free" port on the front of the intake manifold so that I'd quit frying the wires for it on my headers.

you know, if you want to THINK about it, and not waste money, you could just order one for a truck... spend around $8-$12... sure it doesnt come with a Jet sticker, but its the same part

lol

jet doesnt MAKE anything, they just rebadge the same part that your local store probly already has.... for a diffrent app... GM didnt make the fans kickon that late on EVERYTHING...

Exactly! I found a stock sensor that kicked on cooler for a replacement if you still have tpi, but i really want to find one with the spade terminal. Maybe I'll go searching at pep boys, *** they are such idiots tho. No offense to anyone that works there..

Search for Grand National switches. They fit and come on at cooler temps. I got a 220 on/ 210 off for mine cost $8. They had a lower temperature one too, except it cost more.

Just a thought. This is the one i bought last night.

It is the corvette model, which is usable for all tpi motors.
12bucks versus 45. I bought the JET one for my IROC in the states many years ago. Now I am wiser and 35 bucks richer. shawn

I bought a universal fan switch from Advanced Auto a while back. Its got a probe that goes into the back of the radiator, which leads to a box thats got a + and - to the fan, and a constant 12v. Its adjustable too, I forget what all temps its good to. Might wanna check that out if your not sure exactly what you want your temp settings to be.

I'm not sure that the following is what you want, but it does have spade terminals:

By the way, when I was researching the above, IIRC, I found a single spade terminal from BeCool.

Well, it's not a spade, but it might be an alternative:
