s-10 non ac heatercore box/fan?
Have complete ac in my 84, for some reason I cant get a charge into it, jumped the switch and compressor comes on but still why wont it take a charge. Its converted to 134. Has anyone used the older s-10 pickup non ac setup including the housing on the firewall and the fan that comes with it? I'd almost swear someone made a mention of it on the third gen site, looks feasible and would be clean looking, I would imagine that the size wiring to that fan would have to be increased?

on the ac system does it still have r134a in it? is your ac working? if your system wasnt up to par you shouldnt have changed to r134a. r134a molecules are smaller than r12, so it can leak alot easier.

ac
Well the system was complete but was empty of freon, after everything was rebuit the ac was the last thing on the priority list, when I installed the 134 kit it just wouldnt take a charge. I know the compressor isnt locked up because I jumped it from the pressure switch, it ingages nicely. I am at lost on this one. I know the high pressure fill hook-up sits dwon on the frame passenger side and thats surely not the right hook up.

VACUUM
No I didnt have a vacuum pulled on it, but would you think that would stop a pressurized can of freon from intering the system? It would seem that the can pressure being greater would still be able to enter the system. Im not mr. ac and just guessing.

when i tried filling my fathers ac in his ford after it was converted and leaked out it wouldnt take in the can of r134a. im not sure if thats the problem just putting out ideas. it could be that the refrigerant leaked out and the air in there is stopping the r134a from going in.
did you convert it yourself or have a shop do it? when did it stop working?

converting
I converted it myself, changed out everything, o rings, etc, compressor is good the hole 9 yards. I could take it over and have a shop pull a vaccuum on it and make sure everythings alright as far as leaks and what not. Sure wouldnt hurt or cost much. Whats a few bucks huah? Ive been two years restoring it, more hours than I would really wanna count and as for money, in the thousands just like most of us, whats another hundred. I'll try any idea or sudgestion, it just might reap results.
