Dual Electric Fans Problem

One day I left my car running for a long time, then all of a sudden it ran hot. Come to find out, my fans were not coming on. When I turn on the A/C, you can hear the A/C working, but the fans will not come on. I checked the fuse, and it is ok. So what do you think can be causing my fans not to work? (If it's the relay, where is it located?) Other than the relay, what could it be?

I had a problem with the fans not coming on and it was the relay.

Would the temp switch have something to do with the temp gauge malfunctioning? When you crank the car, the gauge (needle) jumps to the other end.

The fan switch to which I think you are refering would have nothing to do with the gauge. The temp sensor is located at the front of the intake manifold right next to the thermostat housing.

I tried looking for the fan relay once, but could never find it. Could you post a pic' of where it is located or give a good detailed description of where I can find it at? Thanks.

Fan relays are on the pass side of the car, one is on the fender and one is next to the radiator.

Gauge sensor is on the drivers side block between cylinders 1 and 3 and the gauge always pegs when you start up the car.

cooling fans run constantly

my cooling fans run when i turn the key, with only the accessory switch on. Researched some wires and found a red wire running from the starter not connected to anything. could this be my problem. Should this wire be on the positive side of the battery or should it be grounded?Hit me back.
