Overheating and blowing fuses
This problem arose recently, when i first got the car on the road it ran like a champ and never went above 220 even when beating on it badd. all of a sudden i cant drive it in traffic for more than 10 minutes or so before the gauge freaks out and i get scared and pull over lol. my coolant is clean and flows well, i put in a new 180* thermostat recently didnt help any. also the fans dont come on, and i replaced the fuse for it and i keep blowing it, it even blew a 30 amp fuse i had to throw in out of desperation(no where to pull over). what exactly would cause this? both fans work when the fuse is alive. is it possiable to wire them so that they are on all the time for added cooling or is there some sort of problem with that? thanks for any help guys! my car is a 89 firebird with a 305 TPI and 700r4 with dual electric fans.

blown fuses only mean one thing. system overload!. there is probly a short somewhere in the harness. or it is grounding out somewhere. look for broken wire insulation, or stripped wires touching metal. if this fails (however unlikley) then both fan motors are bad. trust me electric fans are pushy
