Blower fan upgrade?
I just redid the AC on my 84 Camaro. Its blowing cool out of the vents. I replaced all the controls, resister for the fan,Relay. The fan runs on high speed. It just doesn't have the airflow out of the vents like newer cars. I wanted to know is there a way to get more flow. Like a fan that can be swapped in etc. Or it just a Flaw in the design of the Vents?
BTW I pulled the vents They are not blocked ETC.

Common thirdgen flaw. I replaced the fan motor--hey, mine was 20 years old or so--which helped considerably.

A new fan definately moved more air, not with the force of a new car. Bought mine at CarQuest, but I'm sure you can find what you need at any auto parts store.

I got to messing with Mine and found the Duct work was to high on the center vents. The vent/dash was blocking 1/2 of the duct.
That helped a lot. The fan on these cars still doesn't have the force of newer cars.
I wish I knew if it was fan speed or just a bad design in the ducts. If the fan blows just as hard as any new car then . The design of the ducts just hinders airflow.
I decided to upgrade the A/C. I have a 14x24 parallel flow condenser on the way. A new Compressor. and a 10" auxiliary fan for then condenser.
I figured if it won't blow as hard as a new car. It won't matter if its blowing Ice sicklies.
My vent temps were never good. It would cool the car enough to keep you from sweating, but never had a complaint about being cold.
