Steam for inside the cab.

Ok so when im driving my camaro, my windshield starts to fog up. At first it’s not to mad but after about 10 minutes of driving its starts to get bad. Now the air conditioning is off but when I stick my hand up where the defrost comes out it feels like it’s on. Also when I push the lever from cold to hot on the ac, steam starts pouring out really mad!

On a side note the ac is stuck on defrost. Don’t know why. Also when I come to a stop it seems to stop the steam form coming out and when I put my hand to the defrost I cant feel anything.

Welcome to the wonderful world of replacing a heater core. You will never forget the first time. Find a place where the profanity will not bother any one and get a good manual. Have fun

Stuck on defrost is a possible HVAC vacuum leak.

I agree with Stekman: Defrost is the default. Sounds like the typical vac leak to me. A will provide a ton of info.

Vac leak also, but the big problem is steam in the car, which is heater core. The hard plastic vac line are nitorious for braking. Usually it will be laying on the intake. BUT, if you have steam, and a oily film on your window, that is a heater core gone, with a vac leak. Replace hose with flexible tubing. Astro van are famous for that.

I've experienced the steam from the core, but along with it came a fairly sizable leak which pooled in the pass side floor well.
