I have a problem with my temp gauge. It does not move at all, and I dont want to rip cluster out if I dont have to. I replaced the temp sensor in the front of intake manifold but that didn't help. Also before gauge went out only the main fan would come on the secondary would never turn on EVER! The fan is still good because I jumped the wires and it still works but I still need gauge so I know where im at. Just wanted a little feed back before I break down and take it to a shop cause I would rather do repairs myself. Also if I upgraded to #24 injectors over stock #22 should i get a custom chip or are they ok to run stock. Have a adj maf sensor that I leaned out and seems to run fine but wondering if more power gains from injectors could be had with new chip.

 

The sender for the temp. gauge is in the drivers side head. The switch for the secondary fan should be in thr pass. side head. If you pull the wire off of the pass side sensor and ground it, the secondary fan will come on if all else is in working order.

 

thanks didnt know which was which Hayes manual sucks lol. I will change both sensors this weekend. Are they easier to get to than plugs because those are a pain especially for how big my arns are. But they still need to be done so ill do it just follow same 3 steps with plugs 1.patience 2. carefull 3. Beer

I just replaced the temp sender and nothing changed. Maybe my gauge wire is broke, I still got some resistance in wire with ignition on i will check my gauge tomorrow and then run thru electrical system other than that im stumped

 

Don't have to. Remove the black plastic bezel, the clear plastic gauges face, and the metal bezel to expose the guages. Remove two or three screws around the gauge and pull. Plug and play.

yea i checked the fuse. that was the first thing i checked and its still good about to check gauge itself, then i think the wire might be grounded out

 

anybody put a motor or trans in recently,if so, might have a wire pinched between trans and block, just think'n out loud,...Paul

 

Changed temp sending unit to no avail. Removed plastic bezel and get this touched the temp gauge a wala it works. Never heard of that 1!
NOw neither of may fans work. The main fan would always worked normal but now doesnt The secondery would never work so i the it is the sensor. Dont know about the main 1 tho Im just thinking about fixing main fan and to run a switch for the secondary. any suggestions on this?
