Re: NEED HELP FAST

Are the fans activating? Is the water pump moving coolant through the radiator? Did you also replace the radiator cap? Is the radiator free of debris? Is the air dam in place?

Re: NEED HELP FAST

Is the knock sensor working? Is the SES light turning on? If the knock sensor isn't working the ECM will pull a lot of timing causing the car to run really hot. I had that happen to my 91 and it caught the plug wires on fire.

Re: NEED HELP FAST

So the fans are working, the waterpump is working but i dont think its been replaced since the car rolled of the lot... i have not replaced the radiator cap and the coolant appears to be a little dirty..possibly clogged radiator???? and i have no clue where or what the air dam is...usually the SES light comes on and retards the timing but how do i know if my knok sensor is working? i dont know if it helps but my timing is at 14degrees advanced...any lower and the ECM retards the timing to where it barely moves. I have been trying to figure this thing out for weeks now and still have no idea why this is happening

Re: NEED HELP FAST

If you are at 14 degrees base timing your car is really messed up. It should be at 6 degrees, 8-10 max. My guess is your knock sensor is not working by what you say and that it or the wiring needs to be replaced.
