engine temps

my question is geared toweards engine temps in different places in the engine. i just installed n electric fan setup with a 195 on and 175 off switch but my guage shows it doesnt come on till 240 and off at 220. now my guage sensor is on top of my manifold and my sensor for the fans are in the head on the driver side which puts it towards the front. is it possible that the coolant temp could be that much different in those places??? and if so what should i do to get them both to read the same so both the fans come on at the right time and i know what the proper temp is.

Re: engine temps

If you're basing this off the stock gauge, it's more likely that the gauge is inaccurate then the temps being greatly different.
