Good AC delete threads?

So I posted the following in the engine tech board with no response. Can someone help me or at least point me to a good informative thread? I also need to know what to do withe the cooland hose going from the radiator to the compressor. Obviously I can't just cut chop it. Suggestions on plugging it????????? I'll post a picture if you don't know what i'm talking about.

I recently bought valve covers for my 87 trans am 305 tpi. I need to take the compressor off to install them and want to remove the whole AC unit for looks lack of need etc anyway so I need advice. Yes I did a search on this but 'AC and A/C removal' didn't bring up anything specific at all. Does someone have a link to a detailed thread on this? Either way my questions are how do I drain the coolant out of my collector can? How do I remove the collector itself? I also would like to remove the big black box on passenger side by firewall. Are there any considerations to doing this properly? It seems AC delete boxes are hard to find and more expensive than they sould be. Any replies are appreciated as I can't currently drive my T.A. until I finish this project. Thanks.

this is what I did, I dont know what coolant line you are talking about, can you get a pic of it? As far as taking it out it was pretty easy, but mostly everything but the bottom end was out of the car, the only major thing is the radiator has to be removed to get the condensor. As far as that big ugly box is concerned I just broke it out. You will also need to pic up an A/C delete pully ($17 on ebay).

The line goes from the compressor to the condenser, which is in front of the radiator. You can leave it in there or take it out to lose a couple of pounds. Basically pull the compressor, and if you have V-belts, all of the brackets specific to it. If you have serpentine, go to your local Advance Auto, Checker, Schuck's, Kragen, O'reilly, or Murray's and order an A/C delete pulley. Mine was $23.

Other than that, undo the hose from the accumulator and the condenser, remove condenser if you want, and accumulator if you want. To remove the evaporator you're gonna need an A/C delete box and fan.
