looking at getting a stewart water pump

Going to get a stewart water pump to replace my electric pump. Just wondering what stage level to get and what rotation. I went to a electric pump back in 2004 and can't remember. I have a 88 iroc and my mods are in my sig. Thinking about a stage 3.

Re: looking at getting a stewart water pump

Rotation will depend on the belt setup you plan. If you look at the tech article for removing the smog pump on a serp belt car, you'll see that the serp setups from factory used a reverse rotation water pump, all the others used a standard rotation including the v-belt cars and the 1/2 serp and 1/2 v-belt cars.

Re: looking at getting a stewart water pump

Get the Stage II, the IIIs and IVs are for high rpm, the impellers are different and will not provide adequate flow on a hot day in traffic @ low rpm. Just because it's for a race car doesn't mean it's the best part for your application.

Re: looking at getting a stewart water pump

anyone have the polished version, and if you do, do they rust or chip off easily?

Re: looking at getting a stewart water pump

It's aluminum, it's just polished. Aluminum won't rust and there's no chrome plating to chip off
