tore out AC... now I need to plug these lines
Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody makes any plugs for this AC lines coming out of my heater box. I tore out the system since it didn't work, but I might go back sometime so I don't wanna convert the whole box. Thanks!
Here's a picture... for now I have em duct taped.

Looks like they're "plugged" well enough to me. Since you already leaked all the R-12 or R-134 that was in there into the atmosphere, the harms done. You removed the compressor, so it's no longer under pressure and therefore runs no risk of leaking fluid. Granted some might remain in the dryer or lines, but not for long. Unless you want to put some metal caps on it for cosmetic reasons, the tape should be fine to keep foreign matter out should you decide to repair the system. But the system was not intended to be like that, and some moisture may find it's way in there.

Well the system was empty anyway. The r-12 leaked out a looong time ago. I'd want the caps just for cosmetic reasons basically. Re: tore out AC... now I need to plug these lines
Freon, both new and old is about as toxic as it gets. Being a hotrod enthusiast makes no difference to be being responsible
For caps, take the removed lines to a plumbing store and find some brass plugs/caps
You may have to find a machine shop and make metric pieces. I cant remember the thread type

black rubber (vacuum) caps and hose clamps. You can get them in sizes of 1/2" and 5/8" that fit over hose nipples.
