New Electric Fan Upgrade

Hey guys Was wondering if any1 can shed some light on this for me. Im looking into getting a new electric fan for my car and wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions. My roommates said i should go to the junk yard and get a fan off a 2nd gen Ford Taurus but was wondering if anyone else would have any more recommendations or have ever done that switch.

Thanks

Re: New Electric Fan Upgrade

A friend of mine pulled got one and put it in a buick regal. It seemed to work well in that car but it was a V6. I dont know how well it will fir our radiator since it is a fan and shroud combination. I origionally had the single fan but upgraded to the dual fans found on later cars.

Re: New Electric Fan Upgrade

Is your current fan going out, or are you having overheating problems? If not, then there's really no point in putting in a new fan. If it is, why not replace it with stock replacement?

Currently the fan is fine but the engine itself has a mild build and tends to run a bit hot even with the fan. The temp is still within reason just i dont like it running that hot, also i Think i am just going to upgrade everything when i put in the new 383

Those taurus fans are supposed to be damn good. A lot of guys have been putting them into full size chevy trucks running V-8's.

Re: New Electric Fan Upgrade

Is it Having problems that the fan Is just being overwhelmed by the engines heat or could it maybe be that the fan is turning on too late. If you got a lower coolant fan switch it could help keep your temperatures lower. If not then scratch this idea.
