Buying a radiator

My radiator blew just yesterday. Is this the correct measurement for a 1984 camaro z28 H.O. radiator? 26-3/8 x 16-7/8 x 1-1/4

Ive tried searching it but no luck. Could someone please help.

Or any auto parts store should be able to get what you want.

Re: Buying a radiator

Im not looking for the part. Im looking for the measurements. Many auto parts have different sizes even though it says it fits my car.

Re: Buying a radiator

well why not just go to a radiator shop and order one? if it comes in and doesnt mount up to your application surely they would make it right...

Re: Buying a radiator

I don't think there's a problem generally with parts fitment such as this--a part is ordered for a particular make and model. At least I've never experienced any problems. If nothing else but reassurance, however, you might order something in from a parts store and measure it against the original. If it doesn't fit or isn't to your liking, return it.

Re: Buying a radiator

Ive noticed however that some sites measure 26-1/4 while otheres will measure 26-3/8. Will this have an effect?

Then buy one like the champion ( aluminum ) and u dont have to worry about it anymore, they are a direct fit and cool way better !!!!! Plus they dont crack where the plastic is added on ,,because they dont have any...lol

Just an idea !

Re: Buying a radiator

You'll be fine with the stock replacement from AZ or one of the other chains. Around $100 and you can bring it back if it doesn't fit. Lifetime warranty.

Its only 195 and they also make an all aluminum 2 row ( like stock 0 for 145 )

go on e-bay and do a search !!! if not , yes a stock one from autozone or such will work ..but in 2 years u could have the same problem,,,its very unlikeley that the aluminum ones fail !!!!!!

Re: Buying a radiator

Im interested in the two core. Pepboys wanted 135 for a single core radiator and if auto zones the same im probably gonna go with the 2 core aluminum. Thanks daredevil and everyone for the help.

Oh and will my stock single fan mount up the same way with the two core rad?

Re: Buying a radiator

I've used distilled in my last 3 cars. There is no calcium buildup & no other contaminates.
No bleach, flouride, etc. Tends to hold up better all around IMHO...
