i have an edelbrock victor series on my 434. they're a little pricey at $171 each but well worth it.

I'm curious here, so just asking ...
383 is a 350, bored/stroked/whatever right? So we're still dealing with the same block with same water passages etc. Why would it need anything different than my 350? Does the fact that the piston size changed, the stroke changed, whatever make a 383 run hotter than a 350? I mean I guess higher compression I could see making more heat, but again, it's still a 350 block. I have 10:1 compression in my 350, doesn't run any hotter than a 8:1 or 9:1 compression motor.
So, wouldn't a standard off-the-shelf parts store heavy duty pump suffice?

Horsepower makes heat. Its just a fact of life. Anything that allows you to get more fuel into the engine is gonna make your cooling system work harder. Could be an increase in displacement (350-383), a larger cam, NOS, even a CAI lets you burn a little more fuel.

like the other guy said, horsepower makes heat, and my 408 makes more power than a 350 or 383 with the same internal parts. the 434 is a 400 block.
the victor series is also aluminum, so there is a good chunk of cheap weight reduction right there as well.
