Coolant Hose- Front of Intake Manifold to Radiator
Can anyone provide a part number or any info on a replacement hose for my application. The car is an 89 Z28 with the 5.7 TPI. I have removed all of the heater hoses and what not cleaning up the engine bay, however I believe I need to run a hose from the nipple fitting on the intake manifold base to the nipple on the radiator. Does anyone know of a replacement molded hose for this?.... There are a few bends in the path and a standard hose would not work....

If you're talking about the one that runs to the throttle body you shouldn't need it in your area. It's there to prevent throttle icing.

What I did is eliminate ALL hoses. The only current hoses are the main upper and lower radiator hoses, everything else was removed. I am worried that I may develop some type of hotspots in the manifold from this and wanted to run a hose from the intake manifold base nipple to the radiator nipple. Currently both are plugged. Is this a good idea or will I be fine as is with only the two main hoses.

You should have 3 hoses coming off the radiator. Lower to the water pump, Upper to the thermostat housing, and small one off the radiator neck to the overflow tank.
You don't want to go directly from the passenger side of the radiator to the intake. The water pump uses it's flow to push the coolant through the radiator core. Some of the coolant would take the path of least resistance and would go right back into the intake without being cooled by the radiator.

That makes sense.... Will having the manifold nipple blocked off damage anything? I am also thinking about either going to a lower temp thermostat or drilling holes in it..... I just do not want to risk hotspots with the bypass....

If the thermostat is good it should allow the motor to heat up to 195 then open to allow coolant to circulate. After that the temp should drop as coolant cycles through the radiator. That's how it's designed to function.

Not sure if it's different for different cars - but my TBI car has 4 rad hoses - upper driver to stat, lower pass to w/p, upper pass to heater core (was to diverter valve but I deleted that), and the little overflow hose.

I agree, but coryprine sounds like he's deleted the heater too.
