if they have the lifetime warrenty, it so go for it. if they ever crack you get it replaced for free, so no worries.

Re: Plastic Radiator Tanks. Are they worth it?

Well my biggest worry is that these cheap radiators are 1 row. I live in 110* summers. So if anyone has experience with a 1 row radiator that is cooling a 350, does it help keep the temps down?

these single core aluminum/plastic are the same design/size as the factory equipment found in the mid/later 3rd gens (as opposed to the copper/brass found in the earlier models). should work fine in a stock application

Re: Plastic Radiator Tanks. Are they worth it?

I've been using an OE replacement, from CarQuest (IIRC), for a number of years with no issues in my IROC. I've run it with both the old 305 and now with the 350/330.

Re: Plastic Radiator Tanks. Are they worth it?

Thanks for all the feedback guys (travis401, 1ADan, and JamesC). I said the heck with it and I purchased a all aluminum radiator 3 row for $220 from ebay. Ive read some good stuff here on the "Cooling" sticky. So Im gonna take my old radiator and to the junkyard and recycle the aluminum core.

FWIW, both my 87 TA and my 89 RS had the aluminum/plastic setups.

Re: Plastic Radiator Tanks. Are they worth it?

3rd-gens used GM Harrison plastic/aluminum radiators right from the beginning in 1982. The aftermarket has made copper/brass replacement radiators for 3rd-gens.

My '82 and '84 T/As still have their original Harrison radiators and I've never had any problems with leaks. The '84 has almost 170K miles on it.
