Upgraded Blower Motor?
First I will be running a '02 dash and I am willing to modify the firewall as I will be doing this anyway, but I'm wondering if anyone knows an upgraded rat trap style fan that might put out a higher volume of air than the stocker unit. Yes, I've searched and the best I came up with is "replace with new". I did that and still want more volume. Especially with this new dash going in, any suggestions?

Re: Upgraded Blower Motor?
Sorry for the delay, dialysis takes a toll. Anyway, while that, I think, in theory should kick out more juice, wont it burn out the motor faster, if not within a few months? Im also NO expert in electrical, so if this sounds nutty let me know
but I was thinking of trying to check the amperage on a stock unit, if that kind of thing is listed, and then just trying to find something higher. But will it provide more pressure just because it takes more juice? Also to clarify the reason im looking for more out of the motor is because in a convertible, whether you need heat or cold, it dissipates much more than a t top or hardtop. No matter how new your weatherstripping is it just seems to find its way out. Too many female complaints

It really depends on what voltage it is good for and what it is getting. If you are planning on replacing the blower anyway, why not try checking and maybe bumping up the voltage. If it brakes who cares, replace it. If it doesn't then you've saved time and money.

Re: Upgraded Blower Motor?
I ordered the most expensive blower motor thru Rockauto, ACDelco part # 1580213, I have yet to install it.
In the meantime, my heater hoses were not connected to the heater core, so i took the heater core out (not needed in Phoenix, IMHO).
I have no scientific way of proving that the AC blows harder w/o the heater core in the way, but it sure does feel like it, should even blow harder with new blower.
BTW, I plugged the heater core holes with cork from the dash side.

Did you ever get positive results from this swap or anything else?
