cooling fan fuse blows

i have a 1987 pontiac firebird transam v8 305 5.0 with holley carb
im haveing an issue with my cooling fan did my reasearch fan runs fine smooth not blocked or restricted by anything tested by connecting direct
fan runs fine when a/c is on but car is not running soon as i turn the key on full and start the car it blows the 20 amp fuse for fan under driverside dashboard panel supposidly the coilside of the fan relay is suplied power from the ignition switch and the pcm grounds it so would i have a short between the ignition switch and the relay for the fan

so ive been looking at this wiring diagram i do not have a fuse in my car for f/p inj 2 which is 10 amp my fuse blew a while ago for my c/h fan which is 20 amp it looks to me that my fp inj 2 is drawing power from my ch fan if but when the fan blows it draws power from the coil side of the fan relay which is powered by the ignition swich would that be correct

do you think if i put a fuse in the f/p inj 2 it woud stop blowing my c/h fan fuse

If the fuse is blowing when you turn on the key, you have a short to ground. I would check the wire coming from the fuse to the cooling fan relay. That wire is going to be shorted to ground somewhere. In the diagram, its a brown wire coming from the fuse but turns into a brown and white wire after the c100 connector. Here's a digram to help you out.
