Interesting thing happened..
My car always ran stable at 180-ish degrees. Rebuilt the distributor, now it runs at around 220. The temp is stable, so Im really not concerned of overheating, just wondering why the sudden change. Any ideas??
thanx.
Edit: I do not know the T-stat that is in it.

I dont know what the timing was before. But, the sticker on the hood says 6* and it is at 5. Could 1 degree make such a big difference?

Been doing a little experimenting. Temp is right where it normally is, as long as the AC is off. Turn on the AC temp climbs, and will keep climbing (never let it get past about 230ish). Turn AC off, temp will come down, but VERY VERY slowly. Thoughts?

Re: Interesting thing happened..
How's general driving performance? Does it pull as usual or is it sluggish?
Did you pull the EST connector apart before checking the engine timing?

Driving performance is about the same, starts better. When I checked timing I forgot to pull the EST connector
, but the distributor went in the same exact spot (rotor, shaft, and distributor base to manifold were all marked).
