If you want to do it yourself your parts cost will be approximately $600.*
If you want a shop to do it, their parts and labor will be approximately $1800.*
*Depending on how many parts the PO took.

Re: ac unit
I was in the same boat as you. The PO hacked everything off, cutting the A/C bracket in half and took the condenser/blower motor housing completely out and patched the holes with some knockoff dynamat. I got lucky and found a guy parting out a car and got everything but the A/C bracket for $200.

Re: ac unit
No if your blower works and you have heat you are fine. What components of the A/C are you missing?

Re: ac unit
If you have pictures we would be able to help a little more. How about the a/c lines, evaporator, condenser?

Where are you? I (and probably others) have a complete set up I pulled from my '91 v6. If it's the same components and shipping is not crazy etc. I'd take $100 plus shipping to get rid of it.

Re: ac unit
That's about the going rate I think. More people seem to be deleting AC than re-installing. I'm aslo re-installing as the PO had the AC removed to install an AC delete panel but the process wasn't completed before my buying the car. I picked up almost everything on here minus compressor (came with car) and condensor (thought it was in a box of parts with car for $100 shipped. AC box is in excellent shape as well with perfect factory sticker over blower motor and top half of box over evaporator core was new so it looks real nice. I didn't realize that I didn't have the compressor bolts though so need to locate a set.
Question I have is - when reinstalling a system, what parts should be replaced and what can be used for the system to operate efficiently? I have like three accumulators, however, they're as cheap as $13 on RockAuto. Is it best to replace? Will be using R134 and my brother will charge/check system at his work.

Re: ac unit
BTW, V6 systems are different from V8 on serpentine cars. Compressor is on drivers side/alternator on passenger side on V6, opposite the V8 setup.

Re: ac unit
I'm not sure of the v6/v8 differences and if the components are the same with different brackets. I found a ton of info and internet videos about replacing parts and doing R134 conversions but went with weight loss to auto-x the car.
