AC leak through low pressure port.
I can fill it fine, but when taking the hose off it leaks rapidly. I can put the cap on and it stops, or almost stops the leak, but it leaks slowly over time.
I just replaced the shrader valve earlier today, and the same problem is there.
Did I not get the valve tight enough?

It could be not tight enough, but I doubt it (that would be hard to do unintentionally). I've had other cars where I had to replace the part that the low side valve is part of (line, accumulator, etc.) or it could be the wrong valve. Did you get a "universal" valve repair kit or did you buy a unique/specific part to fit your application?

My car was converted to r134 by the previous owner. I got the universal kit for it at autozone I think... The piece looked the same as the one I took out, except it didn't have a bent pin...

OK, so did you just replace the schrader valve in the conversion connection? Or did you install a new conversion connector on the original R12 fitting? My thought is if you just replaced the valve and not the conversion fitting, maybe you can get that and screw it on.

Yeah, just the valve. Perhaps I'll see about the fitting.

Re: AC leak through low pressure port.
I had this problem recently and it was with a GM AC Delco brand new receiver/dryer from GMpartsdirect.com
Even though I doubled check the tightness of both valves with the proper tool, the low side was still defective. ****ing hella pissed me off because it wasted the last of my R-406a over the next 2 weeks
I bought another receiver/dryer and 3 cans of legit R-12 from eBay. I'm going to remove all non R-12 everything, new o-rings, new orifice tube, new AC compressor and mineral oil, not just a reman compressor this time. Then I'm going to stick with R-12. I was really disappointed when I couldn't find anymore R-406a anyway anymore!
