Fan temp switch from auto parts store or hawks, etc..

There are a couple threads that list part numbers for specific temp switches.

Re: radiator fans

Your fan should be controlled by the ecm which grounds out the relay. You can simply add a switch or install an aftermarket fan controller. It might be better to have someone burn a new chip with some other modifications to it also.

Re: radiator fans

An 87 TA could have either the LG4 or the TPI motor. LG4 would have been controlled by fan switch in the pass head.

Re: radiator fans

The thermostat temperature should also be changed when lowering the fan "on" temperature.

I use a 190* fan "on" switch with a 180* thermostat and they work very well together.

Re: radiator fans

and you can still control the fan 'on' temp with a switch in the cylinder head. just have to remove the plug that's there and screw it in. with the appropriate switch, of course.
