what is this hose for and what is the diameter?
My brother has an 85 caprice 305 with the exact same radiator as my 90 rs manual.
He has a cap on an outlet on his radiator to bypass something, which i believe may be to the heater core but not completely sure. His rubber cap is leaking and he is trying to find a replacement cap but dont know the correct diameter. I am not around his car at the moment so i took a pic of my radiator for reference.
Any help on finding the diameter is appreciated.

It is the hose directly below the clear reservoir hose. His rubber cap is cracked and leaking. Anyone know what this goes to and what the diameter is to solve this problem?
Sorry for the low quality pics and description i snapped and posted this on my way to work

¾"
Some cars have the heater connection on the rad, some on the water pump. Typical replacement radiators fit ALOT of car models; as many as possible. Therefore they put every possible feature for every one of those cars on every radiator. That's why you find a hose nipple like that one, a coolant level sensor, a trans fluid cooler even when you have a stick shift, etc.

Thank you for your reply... makes sense to make a radiator as universal as possible.
I will find a 3/4 plug. Im sure they'll have what i need at autozone. Thanks again

You don't need a "plug"; the name of the right thing is "cap".
It's hanging on a card. It's a "Help!" item. Usually in the Cooling section, but might be in the Help! section with the throttle return springs, clutch bushings, door hinges, etc. In fact, might not be a bad idea to walk through that section, independent of the issue at hand; read every card; look at the parts, see what they do; might come in REAL HANDY someday.

Definitely fit. Thank you for the info. The one that was on there was probably double walled which made it look much thicker than it was. Thanks again
