Need heater core valve info for factory air delete car

I have a 1988 IROC factory air delete car I recently purchased. It appears the previous owner removed the heater core valve so I have hot water flowing into heater core all the time. This equates to hot air in my cabin all the time. And it is currently JUNE! Can someone send me a picture of what that is supposed to look like so I can fix this? I think it's vacuum operated? My heater core line currently runs directly from the metal piping to the radiator. I've seen some that have installed a manual valve from Home Depot (to be switched for different seasons) but if I can fix it to the way it's supposed to be, I think I'd rather do that.

Yes it’s vacuum operated. The vacuum line comes from the control valve on the dash and is in the right side rear efi harness. The vacuum supply is from the rear passenger side plenum.

In the interim maybe move the controls to 'vent' or 'recirculate' (if there is such a thing). Not 100% sure, but I think the doors will close off the heater box. I think the 'off' position is actually defrost with no fan so even off position will drop some heat in the interior.

The valve is only on cars with A/C and only after 1987.

Hmmm, are you sure Drew? I find that hard to believe. I can put my hand up on the dash when everything is off, including the fan and it is pouring out heat. My dash controls appear to function properly - fan works, sliders open/close duct doors, etc. Plus I do have a vacant vacuum line on the passenger side rear of my plenum - one line runs to cruise control, another is just capped off which tells me something was removed. Can someone else confirm if my air-delete car is supposed to have a heater core valve or not? If not, I will be adding a manual valve to the line so hot water does NOT flow into my cabin unless it's wintertime.
